(June 5, 2023) — The Haddam Historical Society is thrilled to announce that its 2023 Scholarship has been presented to Alexander A. Lara, son of Diane Ifkovic and Albert Lara of Haddam.  The $500 scholarship award was based upon scholastic standing, contribution to school, community activities, and interest in history. Alexander, who has a deep appreciation of the past, will be attending Wesleyan University in the fall.
Scholarship Chairperson Susann Costa (above right, with Alexander Lara) noted that this is the eleventh annual HHS scholarship award and that the society is delighted to be able to help support the continued education of one of our community’s deserving students and advocate for the importance of history both locally and globally.
