Submitted by Tricia Modifica, Eversource.

HARTFORD, Conn. and BOSTON, Mass. (December 6, 2019) – Eversource Energy (NYSE: ES) has been recognized by Newsweek magazine on its list of America’s Most Responsible Companies. Eversource ranked #1 in the Energy & Utilities category on Newsweek’s list and placed 72nd out of 2,000 large public companies that were evaluated in its review process. The list is based on an analysis of the companies’ corporate social responsibility efforts, as well as a public survey.
“We’re honored to be recognized for our corporate responsibility and commitment to the communities we serve and will continue to identify opportunities to give back to our community partners and neighbors,” said Eversource Chairman, President and CEO Jim Judge. “I’m most proud of the 8,000 hard-working men and women who work tirelessly on behalf of our customers every day – and I’d like to congratulate and thank our dedicated employees for achieving this national recognition.”
This is the first Newsweek ranking of America’s Most Responsible Companies. Eversource and the other recognized companies will be featured in the news magazine in early December.
In November, Eversource was also prominently recognized by Forbes magazine and JUST Capital on their national “Most JUST Companies” list. The energy company was ranked as the #1 utility and # 26 overall out of 1,000 public companies evaluated. This list is another leading recognition of corporate citizenship celebrating public companies for their positive impact and leadership on priorities such as ethical leadership, environmental impact, customer treatment, fair pay and benefits, equal opportunity and shareholder return.
