Tuesday evening, Dec. 3, 2019 was big for the BoE. Some highlights:
Three new board members, Nelson Rivera, Jennifer Favalora and Shawna Goldfarb joined the Board and we voted in new officers: Suzanne Sack as Chairman, Peter Sonski as Vice Chair, Eileen Blewett as Treasurer and Jen Favalora as Secretary.
The Facilities Subcommittee made the case for replacing the deteriorating HS fieldhouse floor (code violation – hazardous materials). The BoE authorized the expenditure of up to $45,000 to have an architect draw up specifications for submission to the State for partial reimbursement.
The Superintendent submitted and the Board approved a revised RSD17 Calendar which, requested by the teachers, moves next year’s start date from Aug 26 to Sept 2, 2020.
And a newly revised BoE Handbook was distributed.
