Toddler Tunes – Brainerd Library 10:00 a.m.

Pirates Ahoy – Killingworth Library morning (11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.) & evening sessions (5:45 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.)  Registration is required, and you may sign up for as many days that you can attend. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays – please sign up for either the morning OR evening session, not both in the same day. This program will be held under the tent in the library’s back yard. Adults must remain with children for the duration of the event.

Killingworth Republican Town Committee Blood Drive with the American Red Cross at the Killingworth Fire Station, 333 Route 81, Killingworth, from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. For more information or to make an appointment to donate, call 860-304-1577.

Art Night Mystery – Killingworth Library  5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Choose from a selection of “mystery bags” – containing a variety of materials and mediums – and let your creativity rule!

CT Summer at the Museum 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The Thankful Arnold House Museum and Haddam Historical Society are thrilled to be part of the Connecticut “Summer at the Museum,” program which runs from July 1, 2022, to September 5, 2022, and allows Connecticut children aged 18 and under – plus one accompanying Connecticut adult free admission!

Free Outdoor Summer Concert – Higganum Green 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or a chair to enjoy an evening of live entertainment at our local town green. Fun for the whole family! The EcleKtics is a 5-piece band featuring strong vocalists playing a classic mix of fun music from the 40’s through the 70’s.  Their repertoire includes Motown, Rock and Roll, Country Swing and Jazz Standards ranging from the Drifters and Temptations to Carole King, Elton John, Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. Parmelee Farm Open House 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Event by KW Historical Society) Come visit the Parmelee Farmhouse to see some of the farm and kitchen implements from our collection and some artwork, including work by Killingworth’s own Ruth Robinson. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions of our members and obtain some of our informative publications.

Killingworth Car Cruises – Parmelee Farm 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Car Cruises – The car & truck cruises will again take place on the front lawn of Parmelee Farm before each summer concert on the 2nd Sunday of the month starting June 12th thru September.

Tuesday Book Discussion -Killingworth Library 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Join us as we discuss “The Fountains of Silence” by Ruta Sepetys. Our meeting will be held either outdoors under the library tent, at Parmelee, or in the library meeting room depending on the weather and/or availability of the tent. An email will be sent out no later than 11:00 that morning. Extra copies will be available for checkout at the circulation desk. Newcomers always welcome!

Spring Storytime – Brainerd Library. Join us every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for themed stories, songs, finger plays, and crafts.   Appropriate for children ages 2 to 5, but siblings are always welcome.  Storytime is held outside, weather permitting. Folding chairs will be provided, and families are welcome to bring a picnic blanket if they prefer.  In the event that we need to move indoors due to inclement weather, everyone ages 2 and older will be required to wear a mask to maintain a safe space for the 0-4 age group who does not yet have the ability to be vaccinated.

Science Wednesdays for Tiny Thinkers – Killingworth Library 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. This 6-week program is filled with hands-on activities! Children ages 2-5  will explore colors, discover what makes things float, learn about wind and rain, and have fun experimenting with gravity. Space is limited, so please register for each session that you wish to attend.
