CT Troopers file a report: Dirt Bikes

Derek Skinner, 24, of Ray Hill Road, East Haddam, was taken into custody at his residence subsequent to driving his off road dirt bike recklessly and failing to stop for trooper on Bridge Road in Haddam.  Skinner was transported to Connecticut State Police, Troop F, Westbrook and charged with, Disobeying an officers signal, Reckless driving, Operating an unregistered motor vehicle,  Operating a motor vehicle without insurance, Failure to renew license, Failure to have headlamp, Improper rear marker lamp, and Improper stop/turn signal lamp.  He was released on a $1,000 bond and is to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on August 15.
In recent weeks, Troop F and Haddam Resident Troopers have been receiving complaints regarding dirt bikes and all terrain vehicles being operated recklessly on public roadways, where riders are reported to be engaging in reckless riding maneuvers, excessive speeds, taunting and failing to stop for law enforcement.   Eversource have also reported damage to their property within the power line areas caused by individuals riding off road vehicles.
