  • overdose prevention strategies
  • signs & symptoms of overdose
  • how to administer naloxone/Narcan
  • good samaritan law
  • support information & resources
  • gatekeeper suicide prevention

Registration is appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome! Please RSVP to Lindsey at preventioncoordinator@hkyfs.org or 860-345-7498, ext. 3. Please bring your insurance card if you have one. Narcan kits are available to those who are uninsured.

How Narcan/Naloxone works – In the case of an opioid overdose, Narcan(R)/naloxone will mitigate the effects of opioids disturbing the brain until they have been secreted from the body. It needs to be administered quickly, otherwise the situation may turn fatal.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. Ask a question – save a life.
