Cougar Aquatic Team to Host Clean-Up and Food Drive

Submitted by Kelly Inga

(October 21, 2023) — On Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Cougar Aquatic Team will be hosting a beach clean-up at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, as well as a food drive to benefit Helping Hands Food Pantry in Killingworth.

The Cougar Aquatics (CAT) swim team is comprised of approximately seventy swimmers ranging in age from seven to seniors in high school. Many of the swimmers live in Haddam or Killingworth, but others come from many towns around Connecticut. All CAT swimmers utilize the pool at Haddam Killingworth High School.

Teaching children and young adults about the benefits of supporting and helping their local community is a big part of our work as parents/guardians/coaches. CAT swimmers, parents and coaches will be joining in an effort to go out into the community and engage in efforts to help others and leave a positive imprint on our world.

CAT swimmers will be easy to spot on the day of the clean-up in their “CAT in the Community” t-shirts. For further information, visit the website catswim.com.
