(December 8, 2023) — Applications are now being accepted by Connecticut Water Company for School Water Bottle Filling Stations. The company will fund up to a total of $15,000 in water bottle fill stations, which is enough for approximately 10 units across all schools served by Connecticut Water. The program is entirely funded by the company’s shareholders.
“Connecticut Water and its employees are committed to being a force for good in the communities we are privileged to serve by protecting public health and being good stewards of the environment,” said Denise Poole, of Connecticut Water’s Charitable Giving Committee. “Water bottle fill stations align with our priorities by allowing for easy access to high-quality drinking water for students and school staff while reducing the germ spreading potential of traditional water fountains. Further, by using refillable water bottles, the waste generated by single-use water bottles is avoided.”
Any accredited school served by Connecticut Water is eligible. Applications are being accepted through January 31, 2024, and awards will be made in February for an anticipated delivery in spring.
Connecticut Water has awarded 48 water bottle fill stations since the programs launch in 2020.
