Brandon Goff Declares Candidacy for State Senate

Submitted by Russell Bonaccorso

(June 20, 2022) — Citing the need for “new blood” and “fresh, family-focused ideas” in the Connecticut legislature, East Hampton Town Council member Brandon Goff announced that he is running to be the next Connecticut Senator from the 33rd District.

“Connecticut is unaffordable, and as your next State Senator, I will work with Democrats and Republicans to change that,” Goff said.  “I will also work to pass laws which make our communities safer. We need to better support our law enforcement officials and first responders. As state senator, I will put taxpayers first. Your voices will be listened to.”

Goff, a Republican, was elected to the East Hampton Town Council last year.  He has also served on East Hampton’s Brownfields Redevelopment Agency.

At the age of 17, Goff enlisted in the United States Navy.  For five years, he served as a Navigational Electronics Technician on the USS Maine SSBN-741 in the state of Washington. He continues to serve as a Navy reservist and works as an electronics technician for an aeronautical engineering company.

“I love my country and I love Connecticut,” Goff said. “I also very much enjoy public service and helping people.  I am going to be bringing my positive message directly to the people of our district, and I look forward to listening to the voters from now until Election Day.  From affordability to public safety to wasteful government spending, there are so many areas where we can improve our state’s policies. I will be appealing to Democrats, Independents, Republicans and Unaffiliated voters, and I will work tirelessly to earn your support in November.”

The 33rd District includes Chester, Clinton, Colchester, Deep River, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Lyme, Portland, Westbrook and part of Old Saybrook.
