(December 15, 2023) — Brainerd Memorial Library regrets to announce that Executive Director Tom Piezzo has resigned, effective December 27, 2023.
Tom has served as a very able and energetic leader for eight years, during which time he built a highly talented staff, oversaw diverse program development, and guided the library in its quest to be a valuable resource for our entire community. Tom will be sorely missed.
Deborah Rutter, former Deputy Director of the Cheshire Public Library, has agreed to step in as Interim Director as we begin our search for a new Executive Director. Deb has forty years of library experience, so we’re confident that our patrons, experienced staff and beloved building will be in good hands during this time of transition.
The Board of Trustees and Friends of the Library would like to invite the community to an Open House from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tom’s last day, December 27, 2023. Please come enjoy punch and cookies as you join us in wishing Tom the very best of luck in his future ventures.
