(December 9, 2023) — The Connecticut Department of Agriculture is accepting grant proposals for the 2024 Farmland Restoration, Climate Resiliency and Disaster Preparedness Grant, which supports agricultural producers and non-profits directly involved in production.
The grants are aimed at decreasing farm vulnerability to extreme weather events. Applications are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on January 31, 2024.
Agriculture Commissioner Bryan P. Hurlburt reports that the past four years have seen dramatic and more frequent extremes in weather, making these grants more valuable than ever.
For more information about these grants, which have a 90/10 match requirement and have a group dedicated to farmers who are new or beginning, veterans or BIPOC, visit www.CTGrown.gov/grants.
