What Is RSV ? Should I worry about RSV ?

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is an airborne virus; it does not respond to antibiotics. This is a common virus that affects the lungs and breathing passages. It can lead to bronchitis, an infection of the small airways in the lungs or pneumonia, an infection of the lungs.  You need a vaccine to prevent getting this virus.

Who should get the vaccine ?

Anyone over 60 years of age, adults with chronic lung disease, adults with weakened immune systems, adults with other underlying  medical conditions.

What are RSV symptoms?

Runny nose, decrease in appetite, coughing, sneezing, fever, and wheezing.

You must make a reservation in advance for this clinic, so that enough vaccines are available. Please call Doreen Staskelunas at the Haddam Senior Center 860-345-2480 by October 30, 2020. Be sure to bring your insurance card with you to the clinic.
