Submitted by Eric Bergman
(October 26, 2026) — On October 17, 2026, scouts from Killingworth Boy Scout Troop 18 hiked ten miles at Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden. The scouts enjoyed exploring and hiking all the peaks in the park.
The scouts are working toward earning the hiking merit badge, which requires a minimum of five separate long distance hikes totaling sixty miles. Scouts need to complete the hiking, cycling or swimming merit badge to qualify for Eagle Scout consideration.
