As Chester’s First Selectman, I see firsthand our State Representative as one who listens and delivers. That’s why I wholeheartedly support Renee LaMark Muir’s reelection. Renee is a true partner to Chester. When we bring an issue to her, Renee goes to work. She understands that state government is responsible to our towns and residents, and she helps make sure Chester’s needs are heard in Hartford.
During Renee’s first term, Chester secured a $477,010 state Community Connectivity Grant for West Main Street sidewalk improvements. This year, the state committed $1.6 million toward replacing the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry, alongside $6.4 million in federal funding. These investments improve our infrastructure, strengthen our community and replace an historic resource, unique to Chester, and utilized by thousands every season with its across-river connection.
Funding is important, but what matters most is who Renee is. She is accessible, experienced, compassionate and genuinely committed to improving quality of life. She understands the financial strains many carry and is determined to continue to fight to reduce cost burden.
Haddam, Chester, Deep River and Essex deserve a State Representative who will continue to stand up for us, and Renee LaMark Muir does! I strongly encourage Haddam voters to join me in supporting Renee’s re-election.
