As your state representative, I have the privilege of representing communities I have cared about my entire life. I grew up in Ivoryton and have lived in Deep River for 30 years, so I know firsthand what makes Chester, Deep River, Essex, and Haddam special and the challenges our residents face. That connection has guided my first term and is why I’m seeking reelection.
My first term came during extraordinary uncertainty, with decisions in Washington having real consequences here at home. In Hartford, I worked with fellow lawmakers to protect essential services when federal funding was abruptly disrupted, maintain fiscal responsibility, and stand up for residents’ rights. Throughout it all, I focused on bringing resources home and delivering results for our communities.
Working with local leaders, I helped secure nearly $6.5 million in state aid and grants for priorities that matter to the district. I supported workforce development for nurses, first responders, skilled trades, service workers, and small businesses; protected health insurance subsidies; strengthened accountability for federal law enforcement; ensured vaccine guidelines are grounded in science; and established a rapid-response protocol for aquatic invasive species in our waterways.
Important work remains: making Connecticut more affordable, improving health care, protecting our natural resources, expanding practical housing, combating gun violence, helping seniors age safely and with dignity, and improving services while controlling costs.
We must also make smart decisions on emerging issues such as data centers, artificial intelligence, alternative energy technologies, and small modular nuclear reactors, balancing innovation with environmental protection and community needs.
That’s why I’m running for reelection.
I know this district, listen to its residents, and bring experience that turns good ideas into sustainable results. My approach is simple: put the 36th District first, find practical solutions, and get things done. I would be honored to continue serving you.
