In our volatile political climate people are often expected to choose a side, and fit neatly into a political label.But real people are rarely that simple. My husband, Guy Tuccero, is the Republican nominee for Connecticut’s 36th District House seat. Regardless of what “side” you are on, look past the label, and look into the person.
After spending the past seventeen years of my life with Guy—ten as his wife, and nearly seven as the mother of his children—I know that Guy has never been someone who simply follows a crowd. I have watched him through friendships, putting himself through college working two jobs, becoming a small business owner, and growing into the husband and father he is today.
Guy is the most hardworking man I have ever met. He has always been a free thinker. He asks questions. He tries to find practical, common-sense solutions. In a time when the loudest voices often come from the furthest ends of the political spectrum, Guy will represent something many people are looking for: reason, clarity, and the ability to think independently.
To understand Guy, first understand what motivates him. Guy thinks logically, and feels his truth. He fights to protect his family, our land, our home, and our community. Everything he does is for us— for our children’s future, health, success, and joy. My husband is not a political extremist. But he is extreme. He is an extremely hard worker. He is an extremely devoted husband. He is an extremely loving father. He is an extremely loyal friend and neighbor.
As November’s election approaches, please take time to get to know Guy Tuccero—not just the political label next to his name, but the person behind it. At the very least, reach out for a conversation.
