(May 25, 2026) — Suppose you could donate to your favorite charity using money you would otherwise have to send to the IRS. Well, you can. No tricks! The tax code includes several provisions that allow any taxpayer, not just the ultra-wealthy, to support a favorite cause (especially Brainerd Library, we hope!) with money excluded from taxation.

Join us at the library on May 27, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. to learn these very useful, surprisingly simple ways to increase your charitable giving without emptying your wallet. Bill Tait from Essex Financial will share everything you need to know. This is NOT a thinly veiled pitch for Bill’s firm. He offers this how-to session as a perk for his existing non-profit clients, to help them (us) boost donations. This is NOT a dry lecture on the tax code. Bill’s style is down-to-earth and he excels at making tax provisions easy to understand. Please join us on the 27th. And yes, there will be cake!
