(May 15, 2026) — On April 20, 2026, the Haddam Neck Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residence for a report of a female patient in labor. Deputy Chief of EMS Kim Danaher was first to arrive on scene and found the patient to be in active labor.

Kim, who was assisted by other firefighters on scene, delivered a healthy baby boy weighing 9 pounds 9 ounces 21. Following the successful delivery, the crew, along with East Haddam Ambulance members, attended to the newborn. Both mother and baby were transported to the hospital for a routine check-up and are reportedly in good health.

Please join us in congratulating our amazing first responders with a job well done! We would also like to congratulate the LaRosa family on their newest addition.

Great job
There was actually a Middlesex Health paramedic who was there who delivered this baby- I believe he should have been recognized too!
Nothing like congratulating her on her efforts. How nice of you.
So, the Middlesex Hospital paramedic who was there overseeing everything gets no mention?
