Sustainability Committee Hosts Paper Shredding Day May 16th

Submitted by Kristin Battistoni, Haddam Sustainability Committee

(May 6, 2026) — The Haddam Sustainability Committee is pleased to announce that we will be holding our sixth annual shredding event on Saturday May 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. We will be using the former Haddam Elementary School parking lot again this year. This is a drive-through event, so you don’t even have to get out of your car!

This event has grown in popularity over the years as a safe and secure way to dispose of private papers. Watch your papers being shredded right in front of you. Paper clips and staples are accepted, but plastic binders are not.

A $5 per box donation is suggested. The truck is sponsored by the Haddam Sustainability Committee. All donations go directly to Haddam Social Services. Last year we raised $1,605. In addition to raising money for a great cause, we recycled more than two and a half tons of material.

All questions can be directed to HaddamSustainabilityCommittee@gmail.com or call Kristin at 860-345-8531 X 206.
