It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Gerald Sierpinski, beloved husband of 67 years to Arlene Zimmerer Sierpinski after a prolonged dementia illness. David was born June 18, 1938 to Joseph Peter Sierpinski and Angelina Donaroma. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School and attending Vinal Tech, he went to work as a tool and die maker at Quality Tool and Die.
At age 30, he decided to start his own building business, David G. Sierpinski Builder Inc. His reputation as a master builder followed him throughout his career. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, past president of the Middletown Jaycees, and was a little league coach. Since a young age, he followed the Boston Red Sox, and later the UConn Women’s basketball, the New England Patriots, and the Boston Celtics.
David was father to Scott D. Sierpinski and his wife Lori (Higganum); Cort D. Sierpinski and his wife Hilary (Clinton) and Tyler W. Sierpinski (Higganum). He was the proud grandfather (Gramps) to Eric, Joe, Travis, and Cole, and great-grandfather to Owen, Gavin, Ali and Luke. He also leaves brother Bryan Sierpinski and longtime employee Clayton Mountain. A special thanks to Dr. Roy of Durham, caregiver Lana, and the Middlesex Hospital at Home Team.
His Funeral Liturgy was held on Saturday (January 11, 2025) at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Middletown. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown. Donations in David’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Connecticut Humane Society. David’s warmth and love of family will be greatly missed.
