I support Renee LaMark Muir for our next State Representative because I am confident that she will make the environment a priority. We cannot afford to neglect the disastrous consequences of climate change. As people complain about the economy and the high cost of living, they’re missing a very important consideration: the role of climate change.

High costs are often driven by ever increasing chaotic weather which damages infrastructure, interrupts the supply chain, and drives up household bills such as electricity, food, and insurance and increases taxes needed to support communities and repair bridges and roads. I want my state government to be more responsive to this existential threat. Our young people deserve a sustainable future.

During the Connecticut legislative session this past spring, a comprehensive climate protection bill with the support of environmental groups and Connecticut Business and Industry Association was passed by the House without the benefit of any Republican votes. This bill was not called in the Senate due to the threat of a Republican filibuster. It is time for Connecticut to get serious about the deleterious impact of climate change.

I am supporting Renee LaMark Muir because she has made environmental protection a key element in her campaign platform and will continue the fight for climate change legislation in Connecticut. Vote for Renee LaMark Muir on November 5th.
