The Republican Nominating Convention for the State’s 36th District Representative took place on May 17, 2022, at the Haddam Firehouse. The 36th District consists of the towns of Chester, Deep River, Essex and Haddam.
There was one nominee and the Convention unanimously endorsed Mr. Christopher Turkington to be its Candidate for the 36th District Representative.
On acceptance, candidate Turkington stated, “To be the 36th’s Republican Candidate is truly an honor. The people of Chester, Deep River, Essex and Haddam have my heartfelt thanks for putting their trust in me. I will not let you down. My desire to work with all the great, hardworking people in our four towns will be a much-needed breath of fresh air in Hartford.
“I feel we need a change in direction from our current Representative and the time to do it is now. Parents’ rights, backing Police, Fire and Ambulance, fiscal accountability and long-term tax relief are just the beginning of the issues I want to take the lead on as your next State Representative.

It was noted that Mr. Mark Lundgren would be working on the campaign as its Captain.
