Fight Voter Fraud Inc. Informative Brunch meeting Sat, May 28, 2022 140 Knox Blvd, Middletown, CT  06457 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. This organization seeks to reintroduce election integrity to the state of Connecticut by removing the following from the voter rolls: Deceased people; Voters who have moved out of town or out of Connecticut; Non US Citizens.

Saturday Storytime 10:00 a.m. Killingworth Library. Saturday Storytimes are now an in-person event! We will meet either in the reading garden, if the weather is nice, or the children’s room.

Sunday, May 29

Shad Museum – Open every Sunday until June 12 – The Haddam Shad Museum will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 212 Saybrook Road, Higganum. Free and open to all.

Monday, May 30 – MEMORIAL DAY

Haddam Memorial Day Parade – The observance of Memorial Day is scheduled to be held on Monday, May 30, 2022 beginning promptly at 9:30 a.m. The parade route will no longer include marching to the Higganum Cemetery but will instead pass directly through the Citizens Bank and Village Market parking lots, then to the green. The Killingworth Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. and follow a route from Killingworth Elementary School, proceeding south on Route 81. The parade will end at the Congregational Church where a ceremony will be held after the parade with state and local officials as well as veterans in attendance. A military guard will be present, Taps will be played, and we expect a flyover will occur around the time of the ceremony. We encourage all who watch the parade to gather at the Congregational Church to take part and observe the brief ceremony.

HVFC Auxiliary Annual Clam Chowder Sale 10:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

This event is held across from the town green immediately following the Memorial Day parade. A cup of chowder is $4; a quart will be sold for $10. Quarts should be ordered in advance by calling 860-345-8245 and they must be picked up by 11:00 a.m. in the kitchen.

The Auxiliary has been selling the chowder on Memorial Day since 1969. Members appreciate the Fire Department’s help with the chowder for over 50 years!

Wednesday, June 1

HK Mentoring Info Session Brainerd Library Community Room 3:00 p.m. Learn about the HK Mentoring Program, a partnership between Youth and Family Services of Haddam-Killingworth (HKYFS) and RSD 17. During the information session, you will learn about the importance of mentoring, the value it can bring to a student in our community, and the steps you can take to become a mentor.
