Letter to the Editor: In Support of Tuccero for State Representative

Guy Tuccero is exactly the kind of leader our town needs for State Representative.  I had the pleasure of meeting Guy through his involvement in a local community co-op; we have children of similar ages.  Guy would always show up to events in his work truck looking like he had just finished a long day, yet somehow still had the energy to run around and play tag with the children.

During one of these meetups, Guy overheard us talking about having a difficult move coming up and offered to help us with his truck.  We tried to deflect, saying “you must be busy with everything going on,” but he insisted and said he had a few hours open the upcoming weekend.  Sure enough, that Saturday, he showed up and was an absolute blessing to our family, helping us move some of the heavy pieces and alleviating the stress of the situation.  We were floored by the gesture.

Here is a man working full time, raising three young children with his wife, and running for State Representative, yet he donates part of his weekend off to help a family in need move heavy furniture, asking nothing in return.  To me, that says everything I need to know about who Guy Tuccero is and how he will lead.  He is the real deal: a hard-working father of three, Connecticut native, and incredibly thoughtful neighbor who runs a respectable business in our local community. He doesn’t offer empty words and political theater; he offers real action, showing up when it counts.  I’m certain he will bring this same energy and integrity to Hartford.  Our town has a chance to be represented by a man of true character; let’s seize it.  Vote Guy!

Dan Armstrong, Higganum
