(September 10, 2026) — A referendum vote of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings will take place at Killingworth Elementary School, 340 Route 81 in Killingworth, and simultaneously in Haddam on Thursday, September 24, 2026, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. pursuant to Section 10-56 of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut, as amended, on a resolution adopted by the Regional School District 17 Board of Education at a meeting held on August 25, 2026.
The resolution will be placed on the ballot as the following Yes/No question:
“Shall Regional School District No. 17, comprised of the Towns of Haddam and Killingworth, appropriate $151,900,000 for renovations and improvements to Haddam-Killingworth High School and authorize the issuance of bonds or notes of the District in an amount not to exceed $77,200,000 to finance the appropriation, or so much as may be necessary after deducting grants to be received for the project?”
Voters approving the resolution shall vote “Yes” and those opposing the resolution shall vote “No.” Voting tabulators will be used. A copy of the full text of the resolution is on file and available for public inspection at the Town Clerk’s Office. Absentee ballots will be available from the Town Clerk’s office and will be counted at the polls.
