HHS Hosts America 250 Haddam Scavenger Hunt

Submitted by Haddam Historical Society

(August 11, 2026) — Join the America 250 Haddam Scavenger Hunt and explore Haddam’s past through fresh eyes. Follow clues, visit local landmarks, and uncover stories that shaped our town’s 250 years of American history. The Haddam Historical Society is hosting a family/group scavenger hunt now through August 31, 2026 from 12:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. each day to inspire residents to learn more about the heritage of their community and the role Haddam and its residents played during the American Revolution. Register to receive clues by email. Clues will lead visitors to public and quasi-public places in Haddam and Higganum.

Groups will be tasked with “hunting” for remnants of our past and answering questions while learning about those who fought for America’s freedom and the sacrifices they made 250 years ago. Groups will be able to complete the “hunt” at their own pace over the three-week period.

Register for free with this online form and receive the clues by email. All those who complete the challenge will be eligible for the grand prize drawing, a $50 gift certificate to the Thankful Arnold House museum shop.
