(September 17, 2026) — The Haddam Historical Society, in collaboration with local theater group Blue Fire Stage Company, invites you to step inside the historic Haddam Jail cellblock for a unique journey into the past. On Saturday, September 26, 2026 and Sunday, September 27, 2026 visitors will tour the historic cellblock and meet some of the infamous men and women who were incarcerated in the Haddam Jail during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Local actors and volunteers will portray real prisoners who were jailed for various crimes including arson, bigamy, and murder.

Come and hear their stories, learn their fates and see the inside of this fascinating historic landmark known locally as the “country club.”
