(August 1, 2026) — On July 29, 2026, the Haddam Historical Society presented its annual scholarship award to Chloe Felder, a recent graduate of Haddam-Killingworth High School.
The Scholarship has been renamed in honor of long-time member and scholarship founder, Susann Costa who passed away in November of last year. Sue was deeply committed to advancing the education of deserving students while emphasizing the importance of history and its impact both locally and globally. She worked tirelessly to ensure the scholarship’s success and longevity through fundraising efforts and community support.
Chloe, who will be attending the University of Connecticut in Storrs this fall, was presented the award in the gardens of the Thankful Arnold House Museum by David Costa and Andrew Costa, Sue’s husband, and son. Chloe, the daughter of Keryn Felder of Higganum, was a member of the National Honor Society, Peer Advocates Club, and the Spanish Honor Society. She also captained the Girls High School Soccer team and Girls Indoor/Outdoor Track Team. We wish her success in her future academic endeavors.
