(July 18, 2026) — The Connecticut Blood Center is issuing a call for donations as the region’s blood supply is hitting dangerously low inventory levels. Donations typically fall in the summer due to fewer blood drives, school breaks and vacations, but that doesn’t stop medical emergencies from happening. Anyone who can give blood is encouraged to schedule an appointment as soon as possible, with blood drives available at www.ctblood.org and www.redcross.org.
