RSD 17 District Leadership and BOE Host Community Forums on Budget

Submitted by Heather Pach, RSD 17 Board of Education Chair

(June 18, 2026) — In preparation for the upcoming third budget referendum, Regional School District 17 leadership and the Board of Education invite community members to attend two collaborative budget forums. These sessions are designed to provide a transparent platform for residents to ask questions and share feedback in an informal setting.

As the District and the Board of Education work to finalize the budget, community input is a vital component of the process. These forums offer an opportunity to discuss fiscal priorities and address concerns directly with leadership. The community is encouraged to attend either of the following sessions:

  • Haddam Community Forum

◦           Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026

◦           Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

◦           Location: Old Town Hall, 21 Field Park Drive, Haddam

  • Killingworth Community Forum

◦           Date: Wednesday, June 24, 2026

◦           Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

◦           Location: All Purpose Room, Killingworth Elementary School

These forums are part of the District’s ongoing commitment to open communication as we navigate the budget planning process for the benefit of our students and the entire community. If you cannot join them but have questions or input, please reach out by email at BOE@rsd17.org.
