(May 13, 2026) — Emmanuel Church of Killingworth and Saint James Church of Higganum invite all of you, wherever you are on your spiritual journey or background, to our Community Worship Service on June 7, 2026, at Parmelee Farm. Both Emmanuel Church and Saint James, along with Saint Andrew’s of Northford, are part of the Middlesex Area Cluster Ministry Network. We are guided by part-time priests who, together with our lay persons, successfully ensure that our small churches survive in these challenging times. Emmanuel Church services are on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and can be viewed on Facebook Live. Check us out.
Taking care and looking out for each other, we also have dedicated ourselves to supporting the wider community. Emmanuel Church and Saint James regularly provide meals at St. Vincent’s in Middletown. Emmanuel donates to the HK Backpack program, Helping Hands, Hope Alliance, to name just a few. If we hear of a need in our wider community, be it a fire or other catastrophic event, we respond and help. Rev. Ellen has been seen at food pantries, soup kitchens and Veterans Quilt of Valor Ceremonies. If she sees someone in distress, even at Shop-Rite, she will offer a hug and a prayer. That’s who we are.
Saint James provides a Vacation Bible Study School as well as the Fuel Bank, among and other efforts of care and help. Rev. Jim Speers can be seen at many HKHS athletic events, cheering on our Basketball and Football teams. Saint James offers the public four events each year. Three are dinners, and a tag sale in June in the church’s vestry. The dinners are optional ‘take out’ or ‘dine in’ and are well supported. Services at Saint James are on Sundays at 8.00 a.m.
Come join us on June 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Parmelee Farm, Route 81 in Killingworth.
