Submitted by Doreen Staskelunas, Haddam Senior Center Activities Coordinator

(April 1, 2026) — It’s Spring, friends! We made it!😊And that means April programs at the Haddam Senior Center. See the calendar below. First a reminder that the Senior Center will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026 in observance of Good Friday. Now, on to the good stuff.

APR 2026 Event Calendar

Tuesday, April 7th at 11:30 a.m. – Our monthly Blood Pressure Clinic with Sherry Carlson from CRAHD. This is a drop-in event with no sign-up required.

Thursday, April 9th at 12:30 p.m. – We break out the board games! Whether it’s Rummikub, Dominoes, Boggle or your favorite game from home, we are ready to match wits and strategize!

Monday, April 13th at 12:00 Noon – Pizza and a Movie featuring “Erin Brockovich,” starring Julia Roberts. “Erin Brockovich” is based on the true story of Erin Brockovich, a law practice employee, who initiated a legal case against the Pacific Gas and Electric Company over its responsibility for causing the town of Hinkley, California’s groundwater contamination. To ensure enough pizza for everyone, we ask that you sign up for this event.

Tuesday, April 14th at 12:00 Noon – We are kicking off a new series called “Memory Lane Videos: Past Events from the Haddam Senior Center.” Revisit past events from the Senior Center, see old friends and walk down memory lane while enjoying one of our delicious lunches provided by the Kitchen at Futures Inc., or bring your own brown bag lunch.

Thursday, April 23rd at 1:00 p.m. – Cathy from Cathy & Company Botanical Designs will be here with another silk floral arranging workshop! We ask that you sign up for this event in advance either by calling, emailing or stopping at the Senior Center. The cost for Haddam Seniors is $30, and Non-Resident Seniors is $35.

Friday, April 24th at 12:30 p.m. – Stacey Hathaway will be here for our Mini-Spa Manicures. Sign-up is required as space is limited, and the cost is $20.

Monday, April 27th at 12:30 p.m. – We will celebrate our friends with April birthdays! Join us for a delicious celebration with cake lovingly prepared by our very own Carol Leibman.

Monday, April 27th at 1:00 p.m. – Our monthly Book Club will meet to discuss our current selection, “The Winner,” by David Baldacci. We’ve had some great discussions with our previous books, and this one looks to be another “winner.” It is not too late to join this lively group!

Thursday, April 30th at 12:00 Noon – We will have our second “Memory Lane Videos” walk down memory lane during lunch.

In addition to all of these wonderful events, we have our regularly scheduled daily, weekly and monthly events. We serve a delicious hot lunch every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (suggested donation $3) and Friday (suggested donation $5); we host all levels Mobility on Monday and Thursday, T’ai Chi every Friday, and Bingo is held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.

Check out the calendar above for times. Please share with your friends and communities what’s happening at the Haddam Senior Center!
