(December 1, 2025) — The following programs and events will take place at the Haddam Senior Center during the month of December 2025. Click on link below for event and menu details:
Highlights of the month ahead:
Tuesday, December 2nd at 12:30pm – Midstate Region Program Coordinator and Registered Dietician Chris Blancarte will be here to talk about the connection of food to your overall gut health. Join us for lunch (meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes and steamed carrots) and stay for this informative discussion!
Monday, December 8th at 1pm – Cathy from Cathy & Co. Botanical Designs will be here for a Balsam Wreath Workshop. Sign-up for this event is required and there is a fee of $20 for Haddam seniors and $25 for non-resident seniors.
Wednesday, December 10th at approx. 10am – Stay tuned, but we are hoping to schedule a bus trip to Boscov’s. We are still working out the details, so stay tuned for more information on this.
Thursday, December 11th at 12pm – Our monthly Pizza and a Movie! We will be watching the movie “Elf,” starring Will Ferrell, James Caan, and Bob Newhart. Please call or email the senior center to reserve your seat for this fun holiday movie!
Monday, December 15th – While Hanukkah officially begins at sundown on Sunday, December 14th, we wish everyone at the Senior Center a Happy Hanukkah for the following 8 days!
Thursday, December 18th at 12:30pm – It is our December Birthday Celebration! Join us for cake as we celebrate all our friends with December birthdays!
Friday, December 19th at 11:30am – We’ve got our next Mini Spa Manicure scheduled. Sign up is required and there is a fee of $20.
Monday, December 22nd at 12pm – Our Holiday Potluck! More to come on this, but this year we will also include a good old fashioned Yankee Swap Grab Bag! In a Yankee Swap Grab Bag, you purchase a gift, and whoever chooses after you can “swap” their selection for yours! We have set a $10 limit on the gifts to swap. You do NOT need to participate in the Yankee Swap to participate in the Potluck. We will have separate sign-ups for both. I will send out more information on this in the next week or so.
Thursday, December 25th and Friday December 26th – The Senior Center will be closed in observance of the Christmas Holiday.
Monday, December 29th at 1pm – Our Mystery Book Club meets to discuss our current book, “Don’t Let Go” by Harlan Coben. If you haven’t picked up a copy, I still have a couple on my desk.
In addition to the above, we have our regularly scheduled events including:
- Mobility with Jennifer every Monday and Thursday at 11:15am
- Cards every Tuesday – Setback at 10:30am and Five Crowns beginning at 12:30pm (1pm on 12/2)
- Bingo the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 12:45pm
- Tai Chi with Tom Cushing every Friday at 10am
- Lunch every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 12:00 Noon. Lunch Monday – Thursday is a suggested donation of $3 (except where noted) and Fridays is a suggested donation of $5.
Happy Holidays to All!
