(October 30, 2025) — The Haddam Historical Society will host its 2025 Founders Day Celebration on November 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Thankful Arnold House Museum, 14 Hayden Hill Road in Haddam.
The indoor/outdoor celebration will feature local craftspeople, including Derek Collins, who will demonstrate blacksmithing, and the Second Sunday Fiber Artisans who will showcase spinning. Visitors will have an opportunity to card wool and use a drop spindle. Other activities include making butter and quilting.
The afternoon also will acknowledge the local Native Americans and Founding Families of Haddam and the 2025 Volunteer Award will be presented. Cider, donuts and cookies will be served.
