Congressional Candidate Addresses Haddam RTC

By Gigi Simko, Haddam Republican Town Committee Chair

(August 15, 2025) — On August 12, 2025, Mike France addressed members of the Haddam Republican Town Committee, as he reiterated his decision to run against incumbent Congressman Joe Courtney. Since 2006, Courtney has represented Connecticut’s Second Congressional District.

France emphasized the importance of winning the 2026 mid-term election to maintain Republican control of the House of Representatives. He answered challenging questions from the crowd that touched on a wide range of topics, including the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” transgender athletes in girls and women’s sports, General Dynamics Electric Boat’s contract for two submarines, seeking President Trump’s endorsement, voter demographics, consent-based siting for nuclear waste, the Public Benefits Charge, dredging of marinas, wind energy, making Connecticut affordable for young families, and fiscal guardrails.

In a follow-up message, France thanked the Haddam RTC for their time and asserted, “They were, by far, the most engaging RTC I’ve been to in recent memory… I didn’t expect it to go for almost a half hour!”  For more information on Mike France, visit VoteMikeFrance.com.
