Haddam Business Owner Wins Republican Nomination for State Representative

Submitted by Guy Tuccero

(May 30, 2026) — Local business owner, husband and father of three, Guy Tuccero has officially secured the Republican nomination to run for State Representative in Connecticut’s 36th General Assembly District. Delegates overwhelmingly supported Tuccero at the regional nominating convention on May 21, positioning him as the party’s nominee for the multi-town seat.

Tuccero, an experienced Arborist and owner of Meristem Treecare and Plantscapes of Haddam, brings a strong background in small business management and environmental care to the race. As a Connecticut native, Tuccero has established local roots that are constantly expanding. He looks to leverage his practical management experience to lower the cost burden on families, support local businesses and fight for individual and family autonomy.

“I am excited to receive this nomination and to stand with the hard working individuals, families and businesses of Chester, Deep River, Essex, and Haddam,” said Tuccero following the vote. “Our state is headed in the wrong direction, and this district needs to be heard and supported in Hartford. We need to preserve our unique, small town, community character, and have a stronger voice for those struggling. ”

As a father and small business owner, he has dedicated himself to setting the example of hard work, delivering results and prioritizing family. Guy will work to bring fiscal responsibility and common sense leadership to Hartford on behalf of the 36th district.
