Submitted by Haddam Historical Society

(July 5, 2025) — The Haddam Historical Society invites kids to ride the rails with Friends of the Valley Railroad! Meet at Haddam Meadows State Park on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., where children ages 5–12 are invited to ride the track cars/carts and learn about the train and railroad stations that once existed in Haddam. A light snack will be provided. Please advise us of any food allergies at education@haddamhistory.org

The Friends of the Valley Railroad offers free rides along the rail line on Saturdays through October. The Friends of the Valley Railroad is a not-for-profit, volunteer group dedicated to the awareness, appreciation and historic preservation of railroads through education and participation. Its primary focus is on the original Connecticut Valley Railroad and its successor companies from 1871 to the present day. Find out more at fvrr.org.
