Volunteers Wanted for Watering at Thankful Arnold House

Submitted by Haddam Historical Society

(July 2, 2025) — The Haddam Historical Society is looking for volunteers to water the gardens at the Thankful Arnold House Museum this summer! We ask that volunteers take a one-week shift and water as needed based on the amount of rain we get.

The gardens have never looked better thanks to Deb Rutter, Cindy Sullivan, and Diane Gawronski and their garden fairies.

Make sure you stop by and visit our “Liberty Tea” garden, which features plants that the Colonists grew when they boycotted British Black Tea. The Daughters of Liberty were instrumental in popularizing theses brews, which included dandelion, chamomile, lemon balm and more.

2025 Watering Weeks Available/Sunday through Saturday:

July 6 to 12

July 13 to 19

July 20 to 26

July 27 to August 2

August 3 to 9

August 10 to 16

August 17 to 23

August 24 to 30

August 30 to September 6

Please call Lisa Malloy at 860-345-2400 to volunteer or email her at director@haddamhistory.org
