I believe these results are an indication that taxpayers just can’t afford higher taxes. These are financially trying times for most households; especially those on fixed incomes and low income earners. Both towns have high wage earners, but I don’t believe they are the ones turning out to vote. Unless the towns find a way to reduce taxes for retirees and low income families, I predict a majority of no votes until such time the budget requires no raise in mil rate.
