Liberty Banks Makes Donation in Support of HKYFS

By Jennifer Favalora, HKYFS Director of Operations

(June 5, 2025) — Debra Carson, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of Liberty Bank’s Higganum branch, recently presented Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services with a generous donation of $1,825. This donation, made in honor of Liberty Bank’s 200th anniversary, reflects the year the bank was founded, back in 1825. As part of a broader initiative to give back to the communities it serves, Liberty Bank is donating to nonprofit organizations in each town where it operates a branch for a total contribution of $87,600. These donations align with Liberty Bank’s brand promise to “Be Community Kind.”

Liberty Bank has been a supporter of HKYFS for many years. Debra and her team are true community partners always showing up, whether it’s hosting our annual school supply drive or supporting our annual Pumpkin Run. They are deeply rooted in the life of our community, and we are incredibly grateful for the way they continue to show up for our mission and our families.

We are deeply grateful for the generous support of community partners like Liberty Bank, whose contributions have allowed us to expand our work significantly over the past two years. These funds will help us strengthen prevention initiatives, enhance programming, provide direct services and scholarships, and support community-wide events.

We are honored to be chosen as this year’s recipient and thank Liberty Bank, Debra Carson, and the entire Higganum branch team for their kindness and unwavering support. Community partnerships like this are the foundation of everything we do.
