HVFC Takes Part in “Live Burn” Training in Old Saybrook

By Olivia Drake, HVFC Public Information Officer
(June 5, 2025) — On May 24, 2025 members of the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company traveled to Clark Memorial Field in Old Saybrook to participate in a “live burn” at Old Saybrook Fire Department’s training facility.
Firefighters worked in teams to advance a hose line, extinguish the fire, and search, rescue and remove a victim from the building. All interior-qualified firefighters must participate in a live burn annually.
Haddam thanks the Old Saybrook Fire Department for allowing us to use their training facility!
