(May 13, 2025) — The Haddam Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the Haddam Volunteer Fire House, 439 Saybrook Road in Higganum.
Following the 6:30 business meeting, the Historical Society will host Gary O’Neill, a member of the Wangunk Tribe, for a talk starting at 7:00 p.m. about his ancestors and Native American traditions and culture.
O’Neill, known as Red Oak, is an East Hampton native whose family has lived in the area for centuries. The Wangunks resided in the Lower Connecticut River Valley, including Haddam, prior to the English settlement. The Society will have a number of Native American artifacts on display.
Admission is free for members and $5.00 for non-members. Light refreshments will be served.
