Haddam Garden Club Annual Plant Sale May 10th

Submitted by Debbie Karpf

(April 30, 2025) — Every Spring as plants begin to show themselves, Haddam Garden Club members start thinking about their annual plant sale.  Gardens are scoured for plants to be divided and shared, seeds are planted and pots are prepared.

For the past several years HGC has held its annual plant sale in the parking lot in front of the former Haddam Elementary School on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. This year’s sale is scheduled for May 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.  Many come to find the perfect plant or gift for mom, while others are looking to start, fill in or expand their gardens.  Plants are culled from local gardens and are known to thrive in our area.  HGC members are available to answer questions and guide customers.

See our Facebook page for updates on what plants will be available.

We also offer member created crafts at our sale.  This year we will have beautiful decoupaged oyster shells, our popular woven stones from stone weaver and fiber artist KC Alexander, embroidered lavender sachets, garden aprons, mini succulent terrariums and more.

Profits from the sale will be put back into the community in our civic gardens, maintaining the Welcome to Haddam signs, scholarships, civic contributions and informational presentations.  Many community members have attended and enjoyed programs about Crop Circles, rock walls, “Birds. Their Side of the Story,” Witch Hazel and much more.

Please stop by and shop with us, for Mom, for yourself, for your garden…we look forward to meeting and talking to you!
