Financial Benefits Available for Qualified Killingworth Homeowners and Renters

Submitted by Killingworth Municipal Agent

(March 18, 2025) — Every Spring, there are two benefit programs available for income-qualified residents who are either over age 65 or who are disabled. The maximum gross income level for single residents is $45,505 and $55,100 for two. Qualifying residents can choose either a Homeowner’s Tax Relief Benefit or a Renter’s Rebate, but not both.

Homeowners Relief is administered by the Killingworth Assessor’s Office. Call 860-663-1765, ext. 506 for details. Proof of income is required.

The Renter’s Rebate program is administered by the Municipal Agent. Call 860-663-1765, ext. 217. This is a one-time payment based on income, rent, electricity usage, fuel and water expenses. A flyer listing required documents is available at Killingworth Town Hall or by contacting the Municipal Agent.
