(March 6, 2025) — Haddam Volunteer Fire Company began the month of March responding to two motor vehicle accidents.
At 3:00 p.m. on March 1, 2025 HVFC and South Fire District Middletown were dispatched to Saybrook Road just over the town line into Middletown. A vehicle traveling in the north-bound lane crashed into a rock ledge (photo above). Airbags were deployed. The driver was transported to Hartford Hospital via Chester Ambulance.
At 2:45 p.m. on March 2, 2025 crews responded to Bridge Road in Tylerville for a three-car motor vehicle accident and vehicle fire. A vehicle traveling west into Tylerville struck an eastbound vehicle head on (photo above), and as a result of the crash, caught on fire. Upon arrival, crews closed all lanes of traffic while they worked to extinguish the fire. All drivers and passengers were evaluated on scene and one patient was transported to Middlesex Hospital via Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc.
