HK Community Coalition to Meet on January 27th

Submitted by Kyana Anderson, Haddam-Killingworth Youth & Family Services

(January 16, 2025) — The Haddam-Killingworth Community Coalition is excited to announce the first coalition meeting of the new year, taking place on January 27, 2025, at 12:00 Noon via Zoom. Community members, parents, educators and local stakeholders are invited to join us as we continue our mission of fostering a healthy, thriving community for youth and families.

The HK Coalition is dedicated to prevention programming and education in the community. Our efforts are grant-funded and aimed at addressing substance use, promoting wellness, and supporting youth and families through education, collaboration and community involvement. This month’s meeting will feature a roundtable discussion on priority substance concerns, focusing on how the coalition can best address these challenges in 2025.

The coalition is also working to strengthen its representation across all twelve community sectors as defined by the Drug-Free Communities model, which includes parents, youth, schools, law enforcement, media, health care and more. We are especially seeking to establish representatives from the media, faith-based, and business sectors to ensure diverse perspectives in shaping our prevention strategies.

The Haddam-Killingworth Community Coalition values community engagement and encourages anyone interested in supporting our efforts to join the meeting. To receive the Zoom link or for more information, please contact Kyana Anderson, Prevention Coordinator, at preventioncoordinator@hkyfs.org or visit www.hkyfs.org.

Together, we can build a safer, healthier community.
