Haddam Senior and Social Services Report for September, 2024

(October 15, 2024) — The following events, programs and services were offered by Haddam Senior and Social Services during the month of September, 2024. Please note that the Social Services report includes totals for the Municipal Agent.

Senior and Social Services

The following programs serviced the community in September:

Haddam Emergency Food Bank serviced a total of sixty-six individuals. There were 37 Seniors, 17 adults and 11 children. In addition to food, Haddam Emergency Food Bank serviced two families with gift cards to local restaurants and/or grocery stores in town.

Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank serviced two families with fuel assistance for September 2024. 1- Oil and 1- Electric

Haddam Social Services serviced ten individuals with paperwork assistance.

Haddam Social Services/Clothing Bank serviced 194 individuals with clothing.

Haddam Social Services did no wellness checks in September 2024.

Senior Van

The Senior Van serviced a total of 89 trips in September, with 30 medical appointments; 26 people attended the weekly shopping trip; eleven were transported to/from the Senior Center, and 22 were transported for other trips.

Haddam Senior Center

Open 16 days for the month of September 2024

The Haddam Senior Center distributed 118 Futures Inc. Meals and had 153 attendees for the month of September.

6 Seniors attended the trip to Doogie’s

11 Seniors attended the trip to Fascia’s Chocolates

11 Seniors attended the Nutrition Presentation from Senior Resources

9 attended the BBB Presentation: Seniors and Scams

7 Seniors attended the Blood Pressure Clinic with Sherry Carlson

14 attended the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut presentation- Seniors and Seizures

26 Seniors attended Pizza and a Movie – Elvis

There were 5 days with 20+ seniors in attendance at the Senior Center.
