On December 27th at approximately 3:30 PM, the Connecticut State Police were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Route 9 southbound between exit 10 and 9 just South of the Christian Hill overpass. A silver Infiniti coupe was observed traveling at a high rate of speed in the left lane. The vehicle was found to be traveling 89 miles per hour in a posted 65 mile per hour zone. Connecticut State Police attempted to stop the vehicle utilizing emergency lights and siren but the Infiniti accelerated at a high rate of speed, getting off at exit 9. The Infiniti collided with a blue Hyundai at the intersection of Route 81 and exit 9 off ramp, causing the Hyundai to roll onto its roof. The occupant of the Hyundai suffered substantial injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital. The occupant of the Infiniti attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended shortly after. The male operator of the Infiniti, identified as, Christopher Lanham, 30, of New Haven, was arrested and charged with, reckless driving ,operating under suspension, failure to have minimum insurance, engaging in pursuit, evading responsibility, interfering with a police officer, reckless endangerment, possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana, assault 2nd degree and assault 3rd degree. Lanham posted a $50,000 cash surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Middlesex superior court on January 2nd.

  1. How can he mr lanham have so many charges and get out on street so he can do it again? Seem like the state doesn’t, care much for the safety of its residents .
