Town of Killingworth: Respite Center, Transfer Station, Water

By Cathy Iino, Killingworth First Selectman.

A respite center for charging devices, on-site use of medical devices, Internet access, and water will be open at the HK Middle/Intermediate School cafeteria, 451 Route 81, on Saturday, August 8, 2020, and Sunday, August 9, 2020, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We will NOT have showers available, because of the danger of spreading COVID-19. If you come, please wear a mask and maintain your distance from others.
If you need water, please bring your own containers. Potable water is available inside. If you need larger quantities of water for flushing toilets, etc., turn right in the parking area and drive around to the back of the building, where there is a hose that you can use.
Anyone who is unable to use the stairs to the Respite Center should turn right in the parking area, drive around to the back of the building, and park in one of the ADA-accessible spaces. Follow the signs to the ramp and come in the rear door.
Potable water is also available at the Morgan School in Clinton, 71 Route 81.
The Transfer Station will be open Saturday, August 8, 2020 for its usual hours, 8 am-2pm, for all trash. Since we now have power back, the compactor will be in service.
