Swing Bridge Update/Marine Advisory: Week of September 25, 2023

(September 25, 2023) — The Connecticut Department of Transportation advises the following construction activities at Haddam-East Haddam Swing Bridge for the upcoming week of September 25, 2023:

Marine Advisory

  • As a reminder, there will be no bridge openings for boat traffic on Monday, September 25, 2023 and Tuesday, September 26, 2023.  There will be an additional bridge opening for boaters on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
  • The bridge opening schedule for Wednesday, September 27, 2023 is 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.
  • Beginning Thursday, September 28, 2023 openings revert back to:
    • Monday through Thursday at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.
    • Friday through Sunday at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. 
    • 63-Hour Bridge Closure:Full bridge closure to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.  The scheduled time of this closure is Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. until Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
    •   In addition to this week’s 63-hour closure, there will be overnight bridge closures on Wednesday night (9/27) and Thursday night (9/28) as follows:
      • Wednesday night 9/27 into Thursday morning 9/28 – 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
      • Thursday night 9/28 into Friday morning 9/29 – 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
